More grassroots grants available for vulnerable communities across Dubbo electorate

New funding is available across the region for organisations providing critical grassroots support to the community in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said Orana Support Service (OSS) has been successful, with $15,000 approved in the first round of the Empowering and Supporting Local Communities grants program. More classrooms brightened up be LED lights

Local tradies are being invited to help brighten up the region’s schools, with a third round of the LED Lighting Upgrade program announced. More than 800 public schools across the state are set to benefit from the $157.8 million initiative, including a total of 19 across the Dubbo electorate. State MP Dugald Saunders welcomed the inclusion of Ballimore Public, Dubbo West, Dubbo School of Distance Education, Mian School, Yawarra Community School, and Gulgong Public schools. Major milestone for Dubbo Zoo’s new wildlife hospital

Construction of a new Wildlife Hospital at Taronga Western Plains Zoo has continued to move forward despite the impacts of Covid-19 on the Dubbo region, with the first two of four concrete slabs poured for the main building. There has been a lot of works completed to date, including clearing the site and earth works prior to the first concrete pour.
