About the Dubbo Electorate

Dubbo is a regional electorate covering three local government areas, including all of Dubbo Regional Council, Narromine Shire, and the majority of Mid-Western Regional Council. Its major population centres are Dubbo, Narromine, Wellington and Mudgee.

The Dubbo Electorate is a rich landscape of rolling hills and vineyards in the east, through to the vast western plains, and has been home and the vision splendid for Australia’s two leading poets Banjo Patterson and Henry Lawson.

It stretches from Eumungerie in the north to just shy of Yeoval in the south; and from Trangie in the west to Mudgee and Lue in the east. Major towns in the electorate include Trangie, Narromine, Dubbo, Wellington, Mudgee and Gulgong. We also have many character-filled villages such as Geurie, Windeyer, Hargraves, Wongarbon and Eumungerie, Stuart Town and Mumbil to name a few.

We have some of the finest agricultural and resource industries in NSW and many of our nation’s gems include the historic $10 Note town of Gulgong, Dubbo’s world famous Taronga Western Plains Zoo, the vineyards of Mudgee and the fertile river flats of the lower Macquarie Valley.
