Kids to let loose from lockdown this Christmas

With a difficult 2021 coming to a close, Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders is calling for help to design his holiday greeting cards.

Primary school children across the region are being asked to submit drawings, with the winner to take pride of place on the card, which is delivered to hundreds of people and organisations across NSW.

Given the challenges of the year, which saw the state plunged into lockdown, Mr Saunders is keen for the children of the region to share drawings that show Christmas out of lockdown.

“This year I want kids to show me what Christmas in 2021 will mean to them after everything we’ve been through,” Mr Saunders said.

“It might be spending time outdoors, going on a holiday, or sharing time with family and friends you haven’t seen in a while.”

“That’s why I have chosen “Christmas: Let Loose from Lockdown” as the theme for this year’s card. I want it to be something that shows what Christmas out of lockdown means to our kids.”

Entry is open to all primary school students who reside in the Dubbo electorate which includes the Mid-Western Regional, Wellington, Dubbo and Narromine areas.

The winning entry will receive a $200 gift voucher to the store of the student’s choice, second place will receive a $100 gift voucher, with a $50 voucher for third.

All entries must be A4 in size with no cotton, glitter or anything stuck to the page, must not be folded, and the artist’s name, age and school should be clearly marked on the back of each entry.

Entries can be sent via post to Dugald Saunders MP, PO Box 1327, Dubbo NSW 2830, or dropped into Mr Saunders’ electorate office at 1/18 Talbragar Street, Dubbo NSW 2830. Entries close at 5pm on Friday 12 November, 2021.
