Some good news from our region

The world is a strange place at the moment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it was wonderful to be able to share some good news during the week. Over the past seven days I have started making announcements in relation to successful applications made through the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) and Community Building Partnerships (CBP) program. This included $28,455 from the SCCF for Dubbo Triathlon Club to help with the cost of constructing safe steps with handrails to the Macquarie River, which will allow for shorter distance triathlon events for beginners and children. History lesson for Wellington school students

The past will meet the present for students at St Mary’s Catholic School in Wellington, with funding from the Stronger Country Communities Program to be used to create a short film project. Funding to improve Mumbil school oval

Filtered water for Trangie school students

Primary school students at Trangie Central School will have access to filtered water, thanks to funding from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnerships program. Funding for Mudgee Museum

The Mudgee Historical Society has received a boost, thanks to a $20,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnerships program. Lighting to be added to Glen Willow precinct

The Glen Willow sporting precinct in Mudgee will be improved, with nine lighting poles to be installed along a pathway leading the complex. LH Ford Bridge work complete

Moving large quantities of freight through Dubbo has become safer with work to strengthen the LH Ford Bridge now complete.
