Time to ‘Get Ready’ for bushfire season

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is calling for all residents to join their local volunteers for Get Ready Weekend to prepare for the bush fire season. Dubbo Train Station to receive upgrades

Businesses and suppliers in the region are being encouraged to help design and build a local train station upgrade to improve accessibility and safety for customers. Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said the upgrade at Dubbo Train Station is one of nine announced under the latest round of the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program (TAP), which makes it easier for all customers, including people with a disability, to access public transport services. “These TAP upgrades will create about 650 jobs right across regional parts of the state, injecting about $23 million directly into local economies,” Mr Saunders said.

Delroy brigade better prepared for fire events

Fire protection and emergency response in the Dubbo community will be enhanced after the handover of a new $450,000 pumper to Delroy Fire Station.  Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott joined Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders to handover the truck, that has a pump that supplies up to 3,000 litres of water a minute for firefighting operations and a Compressed Air Foam (CAFs) system to fight chemical, petrol and bush fires. Safer Castlereagh Highway near Mudgee

Work to widen and seal road shoulders along a section of Castlereagh Highway near Mudgee is now complete, delivering safer journeys through the Central West.
