To mark the start of Homelessness Week, the NSW Government has reinforced its strong commitment to help people break the cycle of homelessness. Saunders encourages Great Southern Nights applicants to come forward

Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders is encouraging music venues across the region to apply for support to host a gig as part of the Great Southern Nights event in November. Support extended for bushfire-hit farmers

Bushfire-affected farmers across the region will continue to receive critical financial support following an extension of the Special Disaster Grant program. Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said local farmers will have more time to apply for the $75,000 grant, and will benefit from expanded eligibility criteria. “This program has played a crucial role in keeping local farmers on the land,” Mr Saunders said. “More than 20 farmers across the electorate, mainly in the Mid-Western area, have already received more than $1.3 million through this program to help cover the costs of repairing and rebuilding infrastructure on their properties.

Section of shared walkway completed

Work on a section of a shared loop pathway in Mudgee has been completed – with runners, walkers and cyclists in the town now having access to concreted paths that enable safe outdoor exercise. New $70.7 million Mudgee Hospital officially opened

Ambulatory care space has doubled, dialysis capacity more than tripled and, in a first for the region, the new $70.7 million Mudgee Hospital also has a CT scanner. Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders has toured roads in the Mid-Western Regional Council area that will benefit from major upgrades as part of the Fixing Local Roads Program. A total of $500 million will be spent by the NSW Government, with this round of $191 million complemented by $191 million worth of Federal funding to expand the program.
