Major milestone reached at Western Cancer Centre

Work on a facility that will be a lifesaver for people in western NSW has reached a major milestone in its construction. A “topping out” ceremony marking the highest point of construction being reached, was held at the Western Cancer Centre on Friday, with Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders joining with his Federal counterpart, Member for Parkes Mark Coulton, to commemorate the achievement. Risk of falling rocks minimised on Castlereagh Highway

Motorists bound for Windamere Dam on the Castlereagh Highway are now better protected from rocks falling along the roadside slopes. Everyone Can Play funding program opens

Communities affected by fire and drought are the focus of the new round of funding for inclusive playspaces in the NSW Government’s Everyone Can Play grant program. NSW councils are invited to apply for the latest round of the program, which delivers better and more inclusive playspaces across NSW. Bushfire recovery funding for Mid-Western region

Mid-Western Regional Council will receive up to $250,000 of NSW Government funding to assist the region in the recovery from last summer’s horrific bushfire season. Sections of the local government area were impacted by the blazes, making the council eligible for funding to support the vast recovery process being supported by the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund (BCRRF). Mid-Western Regional Council’s funding comes from Stream 1 of the program, and applications for Stream 2 are open from today and allow for more immediate funding to flow to local councils, community groups and not-for-profit organisations.
