Members of the multicultural community will come together to share their culture, thanks to funding from the previous NSW Government’s Stronger Together Festival and Events Grants program.
Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders has announced $9,000 for the Dubbo Connecting Community Services to host an event that will bring together members of the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and Indigenous communities.
“There’s a growing CALD community in our region, and it’s fantastic to see another opportunity for people of all cultures come together and celebrate multiculturalism within our electorate,” Mr Saunders said.
“This event will shorten the distance between cultures and give people from different backgrounds the opportunity to exchange their culture and experience with others.”
Dubbo Connecting Community Services Migrant Support Officer Khaled Taleb said,
“It’s such a pleasure to receive this funding that will help us deliver our multicultural event to celebrate NSW’s rich cultural diversity in Dubbo and beyond,”
“This will build a bridge that allows people from different cultures to communicate. We hope to make our event a memorable experience for everyone involved.”
The Stronger Together Festival and Events Grants program provided funding from $5,000 to $15,000 for celebrations to be held between 1 February and 30 June 2023.
The event is set to held on the 27th May at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
