Dubbo’s Orana Aquatic Swimming Club are set to benefit from a new wireless electronic timing system thanks to the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grants Program.
The local sporting club has been granted $9,950 to install a new Dolphin Wireless Timing System that will allow a higher quality qualifying meet for swimmers in the area.
Member for Dubbo, Dugald Saunders said “The system is an exciting upgrade to for swimmers, that will improve local swimming facilities and will enhance new and existing events in the future.”
“It is so important we continue supporting our local sporting clubs. They are the life-blood of our communities and are the key to ensuring our kids live a healthy and happy lifestyle,” Mr Saunders said.
Orana Aquatic Swimming Coach Anthony Chapman said, “It’s a fantastic addition to our club to have our very own electronic timing system, that will mean a higher quality qualifying meet for swimmers in the Dubbo area.”
“We want to continue to embrace technology to ensure our swimmers have the best facilities and opportunities out here.”
Grants of between $2,000 and $10,000 per project were available with up to $50,000 available in each electorate.
The Liberal and Nationals Government have granted more than $1 billion into community sporting groups to improve community facilities and infrastructure.
