Farmers across the region will continue to benefit from free, independent financial planning and support thanks to the NSW Government.
Member for the Dubbo electorate and Minister for Western NSW Dugald Saunders has announced an additional $5 million over the next three years to continue the NSW Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS) across NSW.
“There are 50 rural financial counsellors servicing regional communities across NSW, including around Dubbo and Mudgee,” Mr Saunders said.
“There’s also counsellors based in Coonamble, Nyngan, Bourke, Walgett, Narrabri and Broken Hill!
“These counsellors provide a crucial service, giving financial advice and helping with successional planning, farm debit mediation and guidance on what government assistance is out there for our primary producers who have endured an onslaught of natural disasters in recent years.”
The RFCS has assisted farmers, fishers, forestry growers and harvesters experiencing, or at risk of, financial hardship for 30 years.
“Ensuring this vital service will be readily available at a local level is essential to building business support networks and helps producers strengthen their knowledge and operations,” Mr Saunders said.
Funding of the RFCS will continue through to 2025. To find out more, call 1800 319 458 or visit www.rfcsnsw.com.au.
