Funding to get Mudgee BMX riders pumping

It’s set to get pumping in Mudgee for extreme sport lovers and young families alike, thanks to the NSW Government’s ClubGrants program.

Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said Mid-Western Regional Council has secured $205,000 to construct the Mudgee BMX Pump Tracks in the Glen Willow Regional Sporting Complex.

“We know sporty families with young children really value high quality playing facilities, and Glen Willow is already one of the premier regional sporting facilities in Australia,” Mr Saunders said.

“This project will not only level up facilities for serious BMX riders, the track will also serve as a public space for the community, promoting active lifestyles and more opportunities for social interaction!

“I commend the council on this initiative which will create yet another fantastic activity for local families and visitors alike to love in the Mudgee region!”

Mid-Western Regional Council Mayor Des Kennedy said the Mudgee Pump Track will be inclusive of all ability levels from young children on balance bikes right through to BMX riders.

“The asphalt track will be a fantastic addition to the Glen Willow Regional Sporting Complex and will only add to the recreation for local children and families with nearby sporting fields, shared pathways and Mudgee Dog Park,” Councillor Kennedy said.

“I’d like to thank the NSW Government for its help in bringing this much desired facility to fruition.”

Funding under the Infrastructure Grants program is made possible by the Clubgrants Category 3, which re-invests profits from registered clubs’ gaming machines into community projects. For more information, please visit: Office of Responsible Gambling grants and funding | NSW Government
