Dubbo customers will benefit from more travel choices as additional and extended services are rolled out across the city’s bus network from July 20.
Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said the new timetable is part of the NSW Government’s 16 Regional Cities program to deliver more travel flexibility to regional communities and provide better connections for customers to get to work, school, health, and social and recreational activities.
“We will be delivering 58 additional services each week to the bus network in Dubbo so that the local community has more access and more choice when it comes to travelling around our city,” Mr Saunders said.
“We have spoken to operators and the local council about what services would be of benefit and implemented network changes that will support improved connectivity.
“The additional trips will enable travel to and from employment, health services, TAFE, shopping and entertainment.”
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the changes to the Dubbo bus network will make public transport a stronger option for people going about their daily tasks.
“The 16 Regional Cities program marks another step forward in our efforts to build a stronger public transport offering across regional NSW that gives customers more choice and flexibility,” Mr Toole said.
“This is about improving transport connectivity to support the growth of regional communities.”
Customers can visit www.transportnsw.info to view the full list of network changes and plan their trip. Dubbo will also soon be one of the first regional centres in the State where customers can track the arrival of their bus and get an indication of available seating in real-time.
