A re-elected Liberal and Nationals Government will provide small businesses with up to $1,000 over two years to help cover the cost of government licences, fees and charges.
Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said it’s another way the Liberal and Nationals Government is putting downward pressure on the cost of doing business in NSW.
“Small businesses do a lot of the heavy lifting in our local economy and we want to help out by putting $1,000 back in their pockets to cover a range of fees, like liquor licences, event fees and tradesperson licences,” Mr Saunders said.
“This announcement adds to the suite of measures the Liberal and Nationals Government has implemented to make life easier for small businesses, including slashing payroll tax nine times since 2011 by increasing the threshold by more than $500,000 to $1.2 million.
“When it comes to backing small businesses, only the NSW Liberals and Nationals can be trusted to keep Dubbo and the rest of the State moving forward.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said the rebate would take pressure off thousands of regional businesses.
“Small businesses fuel our regional economies so when we top up their tank, we help drive local economies,” Mr Toole said.
“The steps we’re taking to cut red tape and help them save on costs means more money in their pocket and more money they can invest in growing their business for the future.”
The Liberal and Nationals Government has a plan for NSW to continue to be the powerhouse of small business in this country.
Within the next seven years, NSW will be the home of 1 million small businesses, an increase of 20 per cent from today and 50 per cent since 2013.
