Seniors power up for winter

Residents of the region with NSW Seniors Cards can now save on energy costs with plenty of deals to stay warm during winter.

Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said an exclusive EnergyAustralia offer will help seniors keep more cash in their pockets for doing the things they love.

“We want seniors to feel confident they’ve got the best energy deal for them going into winter, so they’re comfortable and can manage the costs of living,” he said.

“Winter can be a difficult time for people, who sometimes face the choice of having the heater on or saving some money. This allows them to do both.”

NSW Seniors Card and NSW Senior Savers Card members who sign up for EnergyAustralia’s ‘Total Plan’, receive 27 per cent off electricity, 25 per cent off gas and up to a $100 energy credit.

“Saving on basic living costs means more can be used to enjoy other areas of life, such as groceries for a family dinner or catching up for with friends over coffee.”

Minister for Seniors Natalie Ward said the 1.8 million NSW Seniors Card and Senior Savers Card holders can access discounts and deals at more than 7,500 businesses state-wide.

“A NSW Seniors Card is a golden ticket to discounts for activities like this, to thank our state’s older residents for their lifelong contribution,” Mrs Ward said.
