Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders has welcomed funding that will be provided to the Mid-Western and Narromine local government areas through the Resources for Regions Program.
Mid-Western Regional Council will receive $2,608,069 from the fund while Narromine’s allocation is $1,675,604.
The program has been established for local towns and communities embedded within the mining industry, and is worth a total of $50 million across 24 local government areas (LGAs) across the state.
“This funding will give both Mid-Western Regional Council and Narromine Shire Council additional funds to complete projects that are of benefit to their respective communities,” Mr Saunders said.
“Mining makes an enormous contribution to communities but it does also impact on communities, and the Resources For Regions Program is a great way of being able to invest back into those communities to make them better places to live and visit.”
