The home of the Mudgee Arts Council is set to become even more user friendly, courtesy of a $25,000 grant from the NSW Government.
Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders has announced $25,000 for Mudgee Arts Council to purchase vital equipment for the Kildallon Education Centre.
“Kildallon has really been embraced by the Mudgee community, with over 300 community members using the space each month within the first six months of it opening,” Mr Saunders said.
“Thanks to this government’s close collaboration with the Mid-Western Regional Council, groups like University of the Third Age, Mudgee Concert Band, Mudgee Performing Arts Society, Mudgee Readers’ Festival and the Cudgegong Camera Club now have a place to call their own.
“This funding will purchase teaching aides and musical equipment like stands, tables and chairs, which be shared among the groups, and enable them to grow even further!”
Mudgee Arts Council president Heather Rushton said the committee was “absolutely delighted” to receive the funding.
“Some of the rooms are fairly sparse and we really need some furniture and more equipment,” Mrs Rushton said.
“We’re just delighted to receive this support from the NSW Government.”
