The Dubbo community will be empowered to deal with COVID going forward, thanks to a grant from the NSW Government.
Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders has today announced $30,000 for LeaderLife in Dubbo, which has been building capacity to support community led health communications and increase awareness of COVID-19.
“Our local community is all the richer for the work of LeaderLife,” Mr Saunders said.
“This grant will help the helpers. It will support volunteers in our community who are making a difference in this difficult time, as we continue to recover from the Delta outbreak, and deal with the new Omicron variant.
“I commend Joh and her team for the incredible work they did during the COVID outbreak we experienced in the Dubbo region, supporting vulnerable people in our community who faced unprecedented hardship during the pandemic.”
Founder and CEO of LeaderLife Joh Leader said the grant will be a great help.
“Our Dubbo community was certainly hit hard by COVID-19. More than ever, we need to be connected through a community-driven approach,” she said.
“We are very grateful for this funding through the Empowering and Supporting Local Communities grant, which will go directly towards supporting local community needs, especially for our children and young people.”
