Big boost for teacher training

An innovative approach to teacher training developed right here in Dubbo is now being doubled to accommodate demand from aspiring teachers. Based on the Collaborative Teacher’s Aide Pathway (CTAP) pioneered by Charles Sturt University (CSU)’s Dubbo campus, the Grow Your Own Teacher Training pilot initially aimed to support up to 100 School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) to upskill and study teaching degrees while working in regional schools. Councils across the Dubbo electorate will receive over $12 million to fix more potholes on local roads, as part of the NSW Government’s $500 million Regional and Local Roads Repair Program. Students at public schools across the Dubbo electorate will return to school in 2023 with access to free menstrual hygiene products thanks to the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government. More than 4600 dispensers have been installedin public schools across the state to help young women overcome barriers in accessing menstrual hygiene products.
