Australia’s first ever Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), the Central-West Orana REZ, has been declared. Energy Minister Matt Kean said this is a great win for the Central West as the REZ will help drought-proof traditional farming communities, as well as provide new income streams for landholders that host electricity infrastructure. “NSW is driving the nation’s action on climate change, by securing our economic and environmental prosperity for decades to come,” Mr Kean said. “Once complete this REZ will provide at least 3,000 megawatts of cheap, reliable electricity, enough to power 1.4 million homes. An advanced manufacturing precinct at Narromine that will create more than 250 jobs is among the latest projects to benefit from the NSW Government’s $130 million Regional Job Creation Fund. ‘First Lap’ swim program extended to kindy kids

Children and families across in the Dubbo electorate will benefit from the expansion of the NSW Government’s learn to swim voucher program. Road transfers to ease burden on Councils

Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders has welcomed the Interim Report into Road Classification Review and Regional Road Transfer, which has recommended the transfer of a number regional roads to state ownership. One of those transfers put forward by the Independent Panel will see the route from Tomingley to Eumungerie via Narromine moved into state ownership, including sections of road within the Narromine township. Community groups, not-for-profits and councils in the Dubbo Electorate still have 10 days left to apply for the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnerships Program.
