Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders announced today that TAFE NSW will help members of the Wellington community gain new skills while also addressing the shortage of social housing and community service workers in the region.
A Certificate IV in Social Housing, Certificate IV and Diploma of Community Services are nationally recognised courses that will equip students with the skills that they need to deliver social housing services to the community.
Mr Saunders said the health, wellbeing and community services industry is forecast to have the biggest employment increase in Western NSW over the next three years.
“I am proud to be supporting the Wellington community by ensuring the workforce is equipped with the skills to meet the demands of such an important industry,” he said.
“We are committed to providing regional people with opportunities to upskill with experienced industry professionals at TAFE NSW.”
The new courses are not only aimed at those already working in the social housing and community services industry looking to improve their skills, but also those interested in starting a new career.
