Have your say on Dubbo Station upgrades

The local community is invited to have a say on accessibility upgrades at Dubbo Train Station.

Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said the proposal includes a new kiss and ride zone, improved toilet facilities and upgraded accessible paths and ramps, to ensure the station meets the needs of customers now and into the future.

“This $1.2 million upgrade will help make sure all our customers, including people with a disability, limited mobility, parents and carers with prams, and travellers with luggage can easily access the station,” Mr Saunders said.

“I’m inviting the community to have a say on the proposal to ensure we deliver a station that is accessible for people of all ages and abilities.

“I’m pleased this upgrade is now a step closer, because I know it will make a real difference to locals once complete, as well as help support about 40 jobs in engineering, design, construction and administration.”

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the upgrade was being delivered as part of the Transport Access Program, in which the NSW Government has invested more than $2 billion to provide more accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure since 2011.

“Upgrades like this ensure that stations have the amenities to support growth in public transport, and build upon our vision to make public transport a first choice for everyone living in the regions,” Mr Toole said.

“Projects like these build on our vision to help make public transport a first-choice option for people living in the bush.”

Feedback on the early concept designs for the project can be provided until 7 November. All submissions will be reviewed and will help guide the final design.

Subject to planning approval, the project is expected to be completed in mid-2022.
