Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders has announced Dubbo’s Cynthia Foley as part of the 2020 Hidden Treasures Honour Roll.
The Hidden Treasures Honour Roll is an initiative of the NSW Government’s Rural Women’s Network and recognises women for their valuable volunteer roles and the outstanding contribution they provide.
Mrs Foley has been a long-time volunteer in the Dubbo region, supporting elderly patients at Dubbo Hospital, Lourdes Hospital and Orana Gardens, and Mr Saunders said it was fitting that her community spirit has been recognised through acknowledgement on the Honour Roll.
“Cynthia thoroughly deserves this recognition and should be extremely proud of her nomination, because it is fellow members of the community who nominated and recommended her inclusion,” Mr Saunders said.
“Everyone on the Honour Roll has been nominated by others who have seen first-hand how their important work has helped their community to flourish.
“Cynthia has played a big role in providing assistance to so many people in our community through her love of music and her desire to share that.”
This year’s nominees join a growing list of over 1000 volunteers who have been recognised since the first Honour Roll was launched in 2010.
