Families and businesses across NSW will benefit from a targeted $2.8 billion package developed to accelerate the state’s COVID recovery.
The NSW Government’s Economic Recovery Strategy includes funding to stimulate economic activity with a strong focus on rebuilding and supporting businesses, helping the hip pocket and boosting jobs.
Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders welcomed the package which includes a $250 boost for family holidays in 2022.
“As life returns to normal the Government is looking to encourage people to get out and support the many local businesses who did it tough throughout the lockdown,” Mr Saunders said.
“As part of this we’re providing five $50 vouchers for every household where learning from home took place in 2021, which can be redeemed at businesses that are registered ‘Discover’ or ‘Stay and Rediscover’ vouchers.
“This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to NSW families, and encouraging them to pay it forward and explore their own backyard in 2022.”
Households will be able to access the vouchers through the Service NSW app from March 2022.
“We know families will be itching to travel this summer, but we don’t want the fun to end there,” Mr Saunders said.
“We’re also encouraging families to support the state’s tourism and accommodation businesses during the quieter autumn-spring period – which is actually the best time to explore country NSW!”
